What Affects the Cost

Every property is different. Here are the four things that move the price up or down:

Vegetation Density

Light grass and scattered brush is fast to clear. Dense, mature cedar stands with trees 6–12 inches in diameter take significantly more time and effort. This is the single biggest factor in pricing.

Terrain

Flat, open ground is easy. Steep hills, rocky soil, or creek bottoms slow equipment down and increase wear. Properties with significant elevation change cost more to clear.

Access

Can we drive equipment straight to the work area? Or do we need to navigate narrow driveways, locked gates, or soft ground? Easy access keeps cost down. Difficult access adds time.

Acreage

More acres generally means a lower per-acre rate. A 10-acre job costs less per acre than a 1-acre job because equipment mobilization is a fixed cost that gets spread out.
